Although Caudete is in the mountains, it is only 45-90 minutes from some lovely beaches. The closest beaches are to be found at Alicante. There are a good selection of family beaches near the city centre (the main shopping street is less than 2 minutes walk from a busy beach). While just a few minutes away you can find beaches that are virtually un-inhabited where you can lie and sun bathe in peace. Slighty further away (northwards) you will find Villa Joyosa. The beaches are quieter than the main beaches of Alicante, and have good facilities such as restaurants, beach boutiques and bars. Slightly further north you will find Spain's main holiday resort of Benidorm. There are 3 main beaches here. To the south is Poinente, then the town beach, then lastly Levante. Benidorm beaches are very busy, have every facility you will need, and at the end of the days sunbathing you can walk into the streets behind and find hundreds of bars, clubs and shops. Heading South from Alicante you will find mile after mile of sand dunes with loads of secluded bays and golden beaches. There are quite a few nude bathing areas to be found in these dunes. Family beaches can be found at San Jose, La Marina, Villa Martin and Torrevieja |
